Jitkomut was born and raised in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand. She went to Triam Udom Suksa high school and Chulalongkorn University (CU) in Bangkok. She received Bachelor and Master degrees in 1999 and 2002, all in Electrical Engineering (EE). She briefly worked at SVI Initatives Ltd. and later joined the Control Systems research group at EE, CU as a research assistant until 2004. She went to University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for a PhD in EE and graduated in 2010. Her study in the U.S. was supported by the Royal Thai government scholarship. At UCLA, she worked under the guidance of Prof. Lieven Vandenberghe in the area of convex optimization and its applications.
Jitkomut is currently an Associate Professor at Control Systems Research Laboratory (CSRL), Department of Electrical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, in short we refer to ourselves as Chula Engineering. It is the oldest university in Thailand with a beautiful campus located in the downtown Bangkok.
Jitkomut enjoys musics, movies, hiking, running, swimming, riding bicycle, all kinds of outdoor exercises and cooking in her free time. Her favorite dishes include Dim sum (shumai), green salad, and basically all healthy stuff.
